GamersGate has one of the more interesting online game catalogues around.
You can be looking through the game listing...ah, there's the latest shooter...and, yeah - there's that RPG EA published recently and....oh, wait a second, they've got Creeper World for sale here?
Obviously they don't have some of the exclusives other sites have (I doubt we'll ever see Half Life games on anything other than steam for example) but they have a pretty huge share of games that you won't see anywhere else.
From my experiences with them there is basic DRM in use, but it's on the same level as Direct2Drive's (ie, online key authentication when you first install the game.)
When you sign up (for free) you also get a free "unfortunately advert heavy but still fun" Volvo racing game.
Advantages:
Huge Catelogue of games and applications
Pre-order system, Deals and savings
Strong community with game tutor system
Gives a chance to more independent developers!
Some free games available
Help Support this site at no extra cost!
Disadvantages:
Web based rather than Application based
Added copy protection for each title
Again, this is one to keep an eye on, at the very least for their special offers.
